Founded in Barcelona in 2004, The Art Observer is an innovative company specialized in managing public Art and producing exquisite artistic project for international companies, private foundations and city councils of the most important cities in the world.
Our range of projects covers both interior spaces (art for lobbies at buildings, art decoration) and exterior spaces (urban areas, parks, gardens). We work for both private clients (companies, hotels) and public institutions (city halls, governments, tourism offices).
Major cities around the world want to stand out and have unique symbols that make them more attractive and help them to enhance tourism, culture and business. The public art has an important role to play on this need.

Its founder and executive partner, Jordi Mateu, was graduated in Economics by Esade School (Barcelona), and has done several postgraduate courses in Harvard Business School (Boston) and in IESE (Madrid).
From 1992 he has developed his professional career as a manager and marketing specialist in several companies of different industries. In 1996 he was appointed marketing director for Sono Multivisión, the main producer for audiovisual and multimedia content in Europe. Since 2000 he has been Marketing Director in two real estate companies and has directly participated in very singular projects, among which stands out Agbar Tower: a 220 million euros project created by French architect Jean Nouvel, and that changed Barcelona’s skyline since it was opened in 2004.
Since 1994 and during 10 years he owned and co-managed Forma, a private gallery in Girona, exhibiting the work of most of the best contemporary Spanish artists.
In 2004 he established in Barcelona The Art Observer, which is also currently present through some partnerships in Geneva and Singapore.
Jordi Mateu it's a member of the ULI (The Urban Land Institute) and is also a member of the Executive Comitee in Summa, one of the finest branding consultancy firms, focused on the creation and the promotion of brands.
Anna Puyuelo obtained her degree in architecture from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, and also has followed several postgraduate courses in the University of Tokyo Geiutsu Daigaku, in Japan, and ESADE, in Barcelona.
Her professional career started in 1992 and is notable for a transversal activity in relation to the discipline: design, theory and management. Her experience as project architect both for big scale residential projects or museums, was rounded out from 2002 with the management experience in Layetana Developments. Her responsibilities as Architecture Director included the selection of architects, control of the projects to guarantee their quality and the management and coordination of the teams involved both in Spain and internationally.From 2001 is also editor specialized in architecture for Editorial Gustavo Gili in Barcelona. At the beginning of 2010 she becomes managing partner of The Art Observer.
